3 Vail Town Council members have family history of public service

Of the eight people today on Vail’s City Council, three are performing the work their dad and mom or grandparents did decades ago when the town was 1st founded.

VAIL, Colo. — At Vail’s City Corridor, council member Pete Seibert Jr. fills a seat that his father Pete filled back again in the 1960s on Vail’s to start with City Council.

“Our objective is to preserve a great deal of what was left to us by our dad and mom, and that is important to us,” Seibert explained.

All these many years later on, the Seibert family members is keeping its title in politics, and they are not alone.

Mayor Kim Langmaid has civic leadership in her veins. Her grandfather Joe was also on the 1st Town Council, and he would invest time hanging out with President Gerald Ford, who normally vacationed in Vail.

“It is handy to see grandparents or mothers and fathers in a job of civic leadership,” Langmaid claimed. “It gives you an more nudge, so you can see that you can do that, knowing you can have a purpose in the neighborhood.”

Jonathan Staufer’s father, Joseph, was on Vail’s 2nd Town Council. A long time later, Staufer is accomplishing the similar point.

“I feel it is a tribute to the type of neighborhood we created listed here, is that individuals participate,” he explained.

With each other, Seibert, Langmaid and Staufer are a few elected officers who are carrying on the household organization of politics to make a distinction in their neighborhood.

“At some issue, you say I’m fatigued of offering my impression,” Seibert claimed. “Maybe I should really try and assist.”
